Project Statement:

The design of this sconce was part of a larger effort to re-invent  26 elevator lobbies at 245 Summer Street.  The  custom, mass-produced design creates a grand geture  beyond that would be possible with a standard arrow or puck indicator while satisfying the client’s contemporary aesthetic. The idea of treating the indicator as a sconce suggested that it also be used as specialty lighting for the building’s redesigned toilet facilities thereby reducing per unit cost.
